XC started their season tonight at the Irish Conditioner held at Governors Small Park. Varsity and Fresh/Soph Girls teams both took home incredible FIRST place finishes! Varsity boys took 9th overall in a highly competitive race and Fresh/Soph boys snagged an impressive 4th place finish! Seneca Invite: Another incredible night for the H.H.S XC teams at the Seneca Invitational. Girls JV team ran away with 1st place that included an awesome first place finish by Freshman Natalie Rink. Boys JV team snagged a 3rd overall finish with a solid second place finish by Freshman Kamden Lockwood. Varsity Girl's team placed 2nd overall with a strong performance by all and a great 7th place finish by Freshman Josie Mendell. To round out the night, Boy's Varsity team nabbed 3rd place overall with a phenomenal run by Sophomore Tyler Howard who placed 2nd overall. PBL Invite: Varsity Girls placed 2nd overall! Varsity Boys placed 3rd overall! Great job to all of the athletes in the boys/girls open race, some of which this was their first time running the 3 mile race! Shout out to Josie Mendell, Kylie Lockwood, Jillian Milton, Molly Raymond, Tyler Howard, Chris Borschnack, and Connor Joffe who medaled in their respective races. Dwight/GSW Invite: Girl's Varsity and Girl's JV both took home 1st Place trophies tonight with individual medals being awarded to Josie Mendell, Kylie Lockwood, Jillian Milton, Molly Raymond, and Mady Rogers on Varsity and Natalie Rink, Alison Borschnack, Kaylee Jefferson, Jillian Cotter, and Morgan Williams on JV. Boy's Varsity placed 4th overall with Tyler Howard once again running a phenomenal race with a nail biting fight to the finish placing 1st overall followed by Chris Borschnack bringing home a medal for a hard fought 9th place finish. Boy's JV finished 3rd overall with the team being led by Kamden Lockwood who ran a solid race medaling for 3rd overall and not far behind was teammate Trevor Stutz who took home a 9th place over all medal. BB Perry Farms Invite - Cancelled Herscher Invite: Herscher XC Invitational 2017! Varsity Girls took 1st place overall with incredible performances by Josie Mendell (3rd place), Molly Raymond (6th place), Jillian Milton (9th place), Kylie Lockwood (10th place), and Mady Rogers (12th place) for a total of 40 points, 7 points ahead of the 2nd place team! JV Girls placed 2nd overall with medals being awarded to Morgan Williams (4th place), Alison Borschnack (5th place), Kaylee Jefferson (7th place), and Jillian Cotter (10th plac...e). Varsity Boys placed 2nd overall with another standout performance by Tyler Howard who took 2nd overall. Also earning Varsity medals were Chris Borschnack (12th place), and Kamden Lockwood (14th place). While JV Boys didn't have enough to field a team today congrats to Connor Joffe and Dominic Mascolo who finished in the top 20!. Maine Event: Varsity Girls took FIRST PLACE overall out of 20 teams for their 3 mile race. Josie Mendell placed 5th (19:21), Jillian Milton placed 6th (19:24), Kylie Lockwood placed 11th (19:52), Molly Raymond placed 12th (19:59), and Natalie Rink rounded out the top 5 in 29th place (20:40). JV Girls placed 5th overall out of 13 teams for their 2.4 mile race. Leading the top 5 was Kaylee Jefferson who place...d 8th (16:39) followed by Jillian Cotter placing 21st (17:27), Morgan Williams placing 30th (17:54), Emily Allen placing 64th (19:07), and Kirsten Leonard placing 65th (19:13). Varsity Boys had some solid competition while placing 14th out of 18 teams for their 3 mile race. Tyler Howard led the top 5 Varsity Boys placing 11th (16:06) followed by Chris Borschnack placing 38th (16:57), Nick Bushey placing 89th (18:41), Joe Buckley placing 90th (18:42), and Tom O'Connell placing 120th (20:49). JV Boys placed 5th overall out of 11 teams for their 2.4 mile race. Kamden Lockwood led the top 5 placing 18th (14:02) followed by Trevor Stutz placing 19th (14:03), Connor Joffe placing 45th (15:10), Andrew Jackubowski placing 59th (15:49), and Dominic Mascolo placing 63rd (15:55). All Area: Congratulations to the Lady Tigers Varsity XC team on placing FIRST overall at the All-Area meet at KCC! Jillian Milton led the pack of Tigers placing 5th, Josie Mendell placed 6th, Kylie Lockwood placed 9th, Molly Raymond placed 13th, Mady Rogers placed 14th, Natalie Rink placed 21st, and Alison Borschnack placed 26th. JV Girls finished 2nd overall with Kaylee Jefferson leading the ladies with a 4th place finish followed by Jillian... Cotter in 5th, Emily Allen in 15th, Kirsten Leonard in 16th, Lucy Martinson in 20th, and Lilly Nelson in 22nd. Varsity Boys took 3rd place overall with another outstanding run by Tyler Howard who snagged 2nd place with a time of 15:58 (WOW!) followed by Chris Borschnack in 9th, Kamden Lockwood in 21st, Nick Bushey in 29th, Trevor Stutz in 30th, Joe Buckley in 39th, Luke Johnson in 41st, Connor Joffe in 45th, and Tom O'Connell in 55th. While JV Boys didn't field a team tonight congrats go out to Andrew Jackubowski for placing 14th, Dominic Mascolo in 16th, and Matt Lemke in 24th. Prairie Central: Varsity Girls placed 1st overall out of 10 teams. Josie Mendell led the Lady Tigers with a 6th place finish followed by Kylie Lockwood in 10th, Jillian Milton in 11th, Mady Rogers in 16th, Natalie Rink in 21st, and Alison Borschnack in 33rd. Varsity Boys placed 4th overall out of 10 teams with the Tigers being led by Tyler Howard who finished 4th overall followed by Chris Borschnack in 11th, Kamden Lockwood in 27th, Trevor S...tutz in 36th, Nick Bushey in 48th, Joe Buckley in 51st, and Connor Joffe in 62nd. Girls Open ladies all did amazing today with each and every one bringing home a medal! Kaylee Jefferson led the way with a 1st place finish followed by Jillian Cotter in 2nd, Gwen Meyer in 4th, Emily Allen in 10th, Kirsten Leonard in 11th, Lucy Martinson in 23rd, and Morgan Schnurr in 26th. Way to go ladies! On the Boys Open side we had Tom O'Connell leading the Tigers placing 28th followed by Andrew Jackubowski placing 29th, Justin Mau placing 45th, and Matt Lemke finishing 49th. Special mention to Josie Mendell for receiving an award for fastest Freshman and Tyler Howard an award for fastest Sophomore!!
Congratulations to the HHS Girls and Boys XC teams who ran in the Regional Cross Country meet today at KCC. The Lady Tigers are your 2017 Regional Champs! The girls were led by Josie Mendell (4th) followed by Jillian Milton (10th), Kylie Lockwood (11th), Molly Raymond (16th), Mady Rogers (17th), Kaylee Jefferson (21st), and Natalie Rink (25th). The Boys team did incredible today and placed 3rd overall! The team was led by Tyler Howard (3rd), Chris Borschnack (9th), Kamden Lockwood (21st), Trevor Stutz (22nd), Nick Bushey (38th), Connor Joffe (44th), and Joe Buckley (55th). Both teams qualified for Sectionals next weekend in Lisle! Keep it going Tigers!
HUGE congrats to the HHS Girls XC team on placing 1st and the HHS Boys XC team on placing 4th at Sectionals! Girls AND Boys are headed to STATE!! So incredibly proud of each and every one of these runners!
The girl’s team finished 4th in the State and the boy’s finished 24th in their first appearance as a team in several years.
